Some Down Time

After two action-packed days at the Zoo and Sea World, we kept Saturday fairly low on entertainment.  We spent morning and early afternoon at the hotel pool.  Then it was off to find a place to do some laundry.  Two weeks into our trip, and I had done laundry only once.  So we had a week’s worth of dirty clothes, and some of us were running low on necessities!  The hotel didn’t have laundry facilities, so I left the girls and Scott at the pool, and I was off to find a laundromat.  Luckily, there was one a couple of blocks away from the hotel with huge capacity machines.  I need these machines at my house.  I was able to do a week’s worth of laundry in two loads.  It took $9 for those two loads, and that was just for the washing machine.  About five minutes into the drying cycle, which took another $3, I looked up to find Scott and the girls walking in.  One more new experience for the girls - first time in a laundromat.  Fortunately for me, they all stayed to help me fold the clean clothes.

First time in a laundromat for the girls!

After our laundromat experience, we made a “run for the border” for dinner - tacos from Taco Bell!  Then we took a stroll around the bay and the hotel before heading in to dress a bit warmer for our sunset boat ride.  When we had checked into our hotel, they gave us four complementary passes for their 50-minute, roundtrip, boat ride across the bay.  It was a three-level boat and, of course, once again we went to the top.  We lasted up there for about 30 minutes before we had to go below deck.  Brrrr - cold and windy!  But it was a beautiful sunset cruise.

Do we look cold?

The sunset was gorgeous!
